Summer Practice: Summer is a great time to refresh and strengthen grade level skills. Please try to practice about 20 to 30 minutes daily.
Outgoing 2nd Graders:
- Reading: Read a book every day. Discuss the characters, setting, and events with your child. Encourage your child to read a chapter book once a week.
- Math: Practice addition and subtraction of two- and three-digit numbers with and without regrouping. Study basic multiplication facts from 0-12.
- Writing: Practice writing in cursive. A great way to practice cursive writing is to have your child keep a journal about everything they do over the summer vacation.
IMPORTANT DATES:
- Wednesday, August 7, 2024 - Registration Day (abbreviated 2 hr. day.)
- Thursday, August 8, 2024 - first full day of school

- 24 No. 2 pencils
- Erasers
- 3 folders-one of each color: orange, green, red
- Scissors
- 1 box of tissues
- 2 boxes of 24 count crayons
- 8 Glue sticks
- 1 pack of Dry Erase makers (4 pack)
- 3 composition books (wide rule) (NO spiral Notebooks)
- Plastic school box
- 1 set of headphones (NOT earbuds)
- Backpack (needs to fit in a locker)
- Watercolor paint set
